Relationships/Partnerships

"The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships."
Anthony Robbins

Relationships are important to me because they allow me to strike a balance with all persons I encounter and develop a deeper friendship.

Relationships I share:
Ø God-Faith

Ø My Family and friends

My students ,  my classmates and instructors

First of all I could not make it through the day without my faith in God and God's strength. Through my faith I’m able to overcome obstacles and persevere through the stressors of everyday life. Without faith and my belief in God I don’t think I could make it through the day, how does anyone?
Secondly my family  which consist of my husband and two children are a large part of my inspiration to make it through the day because I know when I get home I will be spending the evening with my life partner and two wonderful children. I think sometimes what would my life be like without my two children and husband and I become frightened at the thought of not having them in my life.

My friends are special to me because we have been friends since childhood days. We can talk about anything and everything. Although we live all over, we still find time to communicate and talk about events that are going on in our lives. My friends and I have a connection that have been tested over time. I am happy to have them in my life because friendships are hard to find and even harder to keep. I will always respect and love them.

My job is rather challenging at times, but it’s such a rewarding and fulfilling profession. I look forward to going to my job each day and seeing all of the little similes on the faces of the children I serve daily. If I’m a little down or need a laugh my children are always there to uplift me and my day is instantly better. I have often pondered over changing my profession, but I cannot see myself doing anything other than working in the educational field. Even as a little girl my favorite play was “being a teacher”.
In  my classes thus far,my fellow colleageaues and instructors  have offered great advice, feedback and support. It has been wonderful having someone to discuss ideas with, and to receive feedback from thank you all so much.

My challenges developing, regarding, and maintaining relationships are: Not all relationships between people are going to be positive and/or mutual. Therefore, it is important to keep an open mind and not to judge people before establishing a relationship first. Also, it is important to accept and respect different backgrounds and cultures from people you encounter. Personally, I do not assume anything about anyone until I greet them and get to know them better.
The best way to maintain any relationship is through open and honest communication. It is important to be clear when building relationships to understand what is important and what each relationship brings to each person. It is important to understand the benefits you will get out of each relationship and how you will benefit the other person.

My special characteristics of these relationships that make partnerships are: trust and respect. Without these special characteristics the relationship will not develop and grow. Building trust among each other will make everyone feel comfortable and enjoy being around each other. Establishing respectful among each other is a positive and healthy way to get along and also be honest with each other.

My experiences working as an early childhood professional has helped me to create a partnership among parents and children that is positive, complex, and challenging. By working together with families and children will help me to establish a healthy learning environment.
The benefits of these factors make my day better and they help me get through my sometimes challenging days.
My experience in relationships helps me as a professional because I learned how to understand my own biases and how to determine the benefits of each relationship and how I can make the other party understand what I bring to the relationship.

  1. A relationship with God is so important in these days and times and I do believe that without God man is lost. All relationship from God, to Family is of great importance. I believe that as individuals we all need relationships to help build our personality and our way of living. I also believe that as professionals we can build on being involved with many other professionals.
